Vera is without a doubt the kindest, most compassionate person I have ever come across. Her wisdom, intuition and calm reassurance kept me sane throughout my pregnancy (especially when things got quite worrying at the end) and I came to think of her as a guardian angel on my shoulder.
I will forever be thankful to her for helping my little girl enter this world safely, and most importantly, on her own terms. Her birth was everything we had hoped for. (One of my new favourite memories is lying in bed with my husband, 4 year old daughter and her new baby sister, mere hours after her birth. Exhausted and blissfully happy, we ate a picnic of warmed apple bread, hand delivered by Vera before she quietly slipped out to give us that special moment, like the angel she is.)
Vera is a gem of a human being and I cannot recommend her enough... as a doula, friend and human being.

We had Vera as our doula for our recent homebirth, and she was an absolute asset and tremendous support for my long labour and delivery. I don't know what we would have done without her, but more importantly, her support afterwards was even more appriciated.
Vera has a kind and gentle soul which shines through in everything she does. She was my sole support for many hours while my husband attended our toddler, and then when he had time to support me, she seamlessly went into support mode for him. She's intuitive, and she quickly created a sense of trust with me, and I felt like I could be completely vounarable with her. She stayed with me for hours and hours, even when labor was stalling, she listened to her instincts and stayed with me while things ramped up again. I felt so cared for and safe, even in the postpartum period.

I highly recommend Vera. I am so grateful that I was lucky enough to be on the receiving end of post partum care from Vera after having my baby girl. After an epic 3 day labour I felt all kinds of depleted by the time baby was earth side. Vera went above and beyond to ensure that I felt emotionally supported and physically nourished. Vera picked up my placenta from the hospital, created beautiful and sentimental art work out of it and then encapsulated it for me. Vera also delivered wholesome and nutritious food and beverages to my bedside in hospital, and then over the following weeks at home (all very delicious, comforting, easily digested and specifically made with ingredients for promoting healthy lactation) and she would take the time to stay for chat. I found it incredibly valuable having Vera to debrief my whole birth experience with. Vera has a gift for holding space and being so present in the moment, even when I needed to go over things repeatedly, to process it all, Vera was unwavering in her compassion, understanding and support. Whether I needed a hug, an ear, a shoulder, advice, reassurance or even a laugh, my cup felt fuller every time after our visits.

I did the one on one hypnobirth course with Kelly and Vera from mother birth September last year and can I say what an AMAZING experience learning so so much that was helpful during my birth. I met Vera by chance whilst visiting a friend after she had just given birth. I was instantly drawn to her warm, calming energy.
After meeting Vera and chatting about her birth worker journey, I went home and knew I had to message her to chat about my upcoming postpartum journey.
After birthing our son, Vera stopped by and picked up his placenta. Right from meeting her I knew my sons placenta would be treated with love and respect. I had requested placenta art work and for it to be dried and ground into a powder so I could later plant with a tree. She not only created the most amazing placenta art work I have ever seen, she also gave my 3 year old daughters placenta print new life.
Vera visited on multiple occasions bringing the most delicious warming foods and tea, entertained my daughter (she’s a great dancer hehe) while I fed my son and helped with my washing. None of this was expected of her yet she showed up in more ways than one and I am so grateful our paths had crossed.
